Babysitter arrested after 15-month-old baby died from fentanyl exposure in Georgia

CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — A babysitter has been arrested after a 15-month-old baby died from an exposure to fentanyl and other drugs in Georgia last weekend.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Pamela Graves, 59, was arrested after the child she was taking care of was exposed to illegal drugs and died.

WSB-TV said the 15-month-old child was exposed to fentanyl, opiates and other drugs while in her care. The child was taken to the hospital last Saturday. The hospital staff reported the case to the police. The child died soon after.

Graves has been booked on recommended charges of felony murder and possession of a schedule II controlled substance, according to ACCPD.
