During a bail hearing broadcast on YouTube, authorities said James Dixon, 29, fought with the host’s boyfriend at the end of the party after Dixon began digging into the leftover food with his bare hands, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Dixon has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 52-year-old Vincell Jackson, the newspaper reported.

Partygoers told authorities that Jackson attempted to escort Dixon from the premises before the altercation escalated, but Dixon sucker punched Jackson before stabbing him nine times, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

According to prosecutors, Dixon did not deny fighting with Jackson but claimed he was stabbed first, the newspaper reported.
