Jamie Lee Curtis reveals youngest child is transgender

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis spoke for the first time about her youngest child, who has come out as transgender.

In a cover story for the August-September edition of AARP The Magazine that was published Thursday, the “Freaky Friday” actress said she and her husband, Christopher Guest, “have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby.”

Ruby, 25, works as a computer gaming editor, People reported. Curtis’ oldest child, 34-year-old Annie, is married and works as a dance instructor, the magazine reported.

The two siblings were adopted by Curtis and Guest when they were infants, NBC News reported. The couple has been married for 36 years.

Curtis also told AARP The Magazine that Ruby will be getting married in 2022.

“She and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate,” Curtis told the magazine.

Curtis and Guest join a list of stars who have been openly supportive of their transgender and nonbinary children. That includes former NBA star Dwyane Wade and actress Busy Phillipps, USA Today reported.

Wade revealed his 14-year-old daughter Zaya’s gender identity during a February 2020 episode of  “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Philipps spoke about a conversation with 12-year-old birdie during a podcast in December 2020, the newspaper reported.
