HATTIESBURG, Miss. — A small aircraft crashed into a house overnight in Mississippi, killing four people, authorities said.
According to WDAM, the incident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Annie Christie Drive in Hattiesburg.
“When emergency crews arrived on scene, it was confirmed that a civilian aircraft had crashed into a home,” Hattiesburg police tweeted early Wednesday.
Public Information Officer Ryan Moore told WDAM that the crash caused four deaths.
Police tweeted that they have contacted the Federal Aviation Administration, which will handle the investigation.
Officials are urging residents not to touch or remove any crash debris from their property. If you find any wreckage, call Hattiesburg police at 601-467-7556.
