TULSA, Okla. — A woman from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been arrested after police said her 12-year-old daughter had a baby with a 24-year-old man.

The Tulsa Police Department said Desiree Castaneda was charged with enabling child sex abuse and child neglect, KOKI reported.

The authorities said Castaneda knew her daughter was in a relationship with Juan Miranda-Jara and approved of it.

Police said there were photos of a baby shower that had been thrown and that the images showed the girl with Castaneda, KOKI reported.

Miranda-Jara was arrested earlier this month and charged with first-degree rape after the girl went to a hospital in mid-labor. Police said Miranda-Jara was with the girl at the medical facility.

“They walked in just like any other couple would, excited to deliver their newborn child,” officer Danny Bean told KOKI earlier this month.
