Originally built in 1945, the art deco designed Woodlawn Theatre was a venue for top Hollywood films, including the 1960 world premiere of John Wayne’s “The Alamo”. It was revamped in 2006 and has been the home to musical productions and educational programming year-round since 2012, when it became a non-profit organization.  Although the pandemic has altered production over the past year, the Woodlawn continues to serve San Antonio through live productions cast with local performers.
